Huge EP release from 140 Ninja and Cerebral Cuts

Coming in from 140 ninja this month is a percy release that needs loading into your arsenal. Cerebral Cuts features with a 2 track EP that weaves an incredible tapestry between both tracks and features some very impressive sound design, rhythm and vision. Each tune creates huge space but feels very much a whole, showcasing real talent and an artist’s brush strokes. It’s too easy to listen to and put back on again without becoming repetitive. If you are looking for a master surgeon to rewire those synapses, this is your man.

Track one entitled N65V3140, has a deceivingly ambient intro that lulls you into a false sense of security, a crackling fire leads into an explosion of deep, pure, beautiful bass and drums. The way the snare and kick trail off leaving shuffling hats amongst ambient space is exceptionally clever and keeps the tune moving nicely but still allowing for plenty of space to breathe. The call and response of the elements at play are intricate and very well thought out making an all round giant of a tune. It isn’t hard at all to really get the feels off this beat, even just listening to it through headphones. Amazing work from Cerebral cuts here.

The B side, N30V6140, features a more mellow and ambient feel, great for building up some tension in your set. Huge rising synths and rolling, primal rhythms all take you into the unknown of the deep. Well placed it could help bring your next drop in with a bang or keep those twilight hour steppers moving and visualising. Standalone all the pieces slot together to form a picture that’s very easy on the listener, crisp, tight percussion, dubby delays all go together like clockwork and set a dark but very much inviting scene. Again, it’s a track where the elements work so well together the track runs it’s whole duration without wearing thin on your ear in the slightest.

All in all Cerebral Cuts has spliced together a rhythmic and ambient masterpiece with this E.P and even if you aren’t looking to slot the tunes in your decks they are a must have for the listening experience at the very least. Keep your eyes peeled for future work too as I think there is a very deep and dark rabbit hole we could all be lured into by the patterns of a true master at his art.
