We’re excited here at Bassport to review the brand-new release from Blackhill Productions, in the form of a 2 track EP from Sedo, featuring a collab with Recon47. Upfront drum & bass from start to finish. Released on 01/06/18 catalogue number BHP048. Still fresh for your record boxes.  Production quality is insane, one definitely not to be missed by any tech drum & bass fan.

Kicking things off is a collab with Recon47, track entitled ‘Inhale’. Featuring atmospheric sound design on the intro conjuring up a dark suspense, before the bass intensifies building up to a fiercely heavy drop. Full frequency spectrum considered with loads of emphasis on the low-end sub. Tight punching drums, neuro reese basslines reminiscent of early Black Sun Empire. This is not for the faint hearted, but packed full of energy and guaranteed to rock any drum & bass dance. The tune soon breaks down into atmospheric pads, with neuro basslines taking you on a journey, before building back up to an even heavier second drop, with pulsating high hats/ rides that give it a great swag to bounce too. Sedo and Recon47 have definitely worked well together here. I think this is my favourite track off the release and will definitely punch through on club sound systems.

Flipping things over to the other side of the release and we have a solo track from Sedo. Another techy DNB roller. Solid drums to start the intro, dark pads intensify as he builds to the break down and the suspense builds as you hear a female cry ‘I’m afraid’ which gives the track its title. The drop features wobbly neuro reeses. Really nice flow on the bassline that matches the drums well. Drum filtering on the turn arounds work really well. The pots and pans style percussion gives the track a fierce groove. Perfect for any DNB roller fan who wants a heavy wobbly bassline to go with it!
